OK. I appreciate this may be some people's worst nightmare or just verging on the impossible.. but dh and I are taking our dd to a festival This one:www.latitudefestival.co.uk/home/

Having spoken to someone on the phone, it appears that we are elligable for 2 for 1 tickets. I'm dead impressed by the disabled facilities - not to mention all the stuff going on for children / lovely scenery etc. Just thought I'd share in case it appeals to anyone's inner hippy!

I'm really excited. Ooh its going to be lovely (please no one piss on my bonfire by reminding me of practical considerations of being stuck in a field, heavily pregnant, dd actually not loving it at all)

lalalala

Ejb, Henham is very near me so won't be staying in a field but do plan to go for a day.
If it does rain & the inner hippy has had enough there are some lovely hotels in Southwold.

we are at a Wedding on the Saturday so I think it will be the Sunday.
Will have to think about DS2 though DH thinks he'll hate it, I think he'll be OK & will like the music but will take refuge from the crowds in his major buggy.
We'll have to give it a little more thought.. maybe he would prefer the day with my mum & dad being spoilt rotten.

its difficult to judge, isn't it? I think dd will love the music, people, scenery etc - though I am concerned about the volume and bright lights (she can't bear sunlight - tho she will have her new glasses by then and hopefully eye op which may help)

I just figure that if it gets too much we'll have to find a quiet, shady corner for her. And well - try anything once. Maybe I'll discover that festivals are a no go for her. Hope not though!

From the sounds of it, getting spoilt by grandparents is a pretty decent option whatever
