Not really sure what to expect and really couldn't afford another £225 on our account but I need to pull out all stops to get this statement!
The LEA make their decision at the end of the month!

When are you going Dingle? We're going Monday and Tuesday.

They are doing a mobile clinic in Deal, Kent. We are going Thurdsay and Friday. Would have been great to have actually got to meet someone on the SN boards there!!

That sounds ideal for us dingle. So do you live really near to the mobile clinic then?

Oh what a shame. We're going to Bridgewater. The last two times we've been the place has been strangely empty - I really liked it the first time when there were a number of families there.

We're going to finish with them for now - can't afford to continue with BIBIC and do the other programme we're starting (Growing Minds). But I hope we can continue an informal connection with them - will always be very grateful for the tremendous support they gave us before DS2 was dx, when I didn't know what to do or where to turn for help.

Well to be honest I was really unsure about going again. WE already pay for SALT which is specialised to the needs of children with Down Syndrome, and I cannot fault that...well apart from the cost!!LOL.
But DH got sooo much out of last years assessment, he doesn't get the opportunity to really see her at her therapies, so really lacks confidence in carrying them out.
This will be the 2nd time with BIBIC, last Easter we got our first ever real sensory advice, so in a way it was worth that in itself.

I feel so guilty though, not been carrying out much of the Bibic program for ages though. I have been so down and drained with all the fighting for a statement, I just haven't got the time, energy or motivation to do it. Hopefully, it will give both DH and me the kick up the backsides we need!!

BH, not not near at all!!LOL..We are in Medway, nr Chatham, so travelling down to Deal is well over an hour away- but easier than having to travel to Somerset!
We looked at the costs to stay over night, but just couldn't justify it with the extension still looming this year, we will be stretched enough!

Hopefully Bibic will be able to rush through the report so that the LEA can include in as "evidence" to make their decision on!

Blssom BIBIC won't criticise the meds.

We're abck in Amrch for Sam, waiting for a date for Harry- we cant afford it but have no choice as its the only help he can access- not even a SALT around this way. Do like BIBIC though

Sphil, have you asked them about funding? they helped us get it for Sam.

Sphil if you're around there next week I'm going down to meet friends in Puriton (the village behind BIBIC LOL)- do let me now if you're about.

BIBIC asessments were what got Sam a DX, can't fault them, although we've transferred to bridgwater as the Welsh facillities imo were not as good, and yu always had to wait and see who could make the drive over. As Mum is in Bridgwater anyway, hardly difficult to organise.

Peachy - we're only there tomorrow (half day) and then in Taunton until Saturday. But down for good from 3rd April, so sure we'll manage a meet up then.

Today was exhausting! Thought DS2 was going to be very uncooperative at first - we had the male therapist and DS2 doesn't tune in to male voices very well - something to do with pitch I think. But by the afternoon he had him kicking a ball to him - something he's NEVER done before.
Came back and my mum had let DS1 watch a Doctor Who video - has taken an hour and a half to get him to sleep as a result. Not what I wanted....

Yes - we thought it would be best for DS1 to start his new school at the beginning of the summer term and DH has a job based in Taunton - now we just have to sell our house.

Dingle, we would have been at that one.. [disappointed not to meet you emoticon] but I asked for our second visit to be postponed until Summer as things are so up in the air with our (soon to be) house move and I just couldn't face a new regime to fit in even though we are struggling with behaviour.
