Hi, my 4 year old is about to have his ADOS
He is in reception at a special needs school, and should have had the ados a year ago. So I'm glad it's finally being done.
However, I have been informed of the date of the test, but not invited to it. I have been told that I can attend after the test for a review
I have other children who are autistic and have always been present at all their appointments. I think this is very odd, and want to insist on being there.
My local authority have a history of not diagnosing children with obvious traits until 6 or 7. My 4 year old ds received a dx when he was 3 by a specialist paediatrician, and I suspect they want to raise doubts or something.
Can they really do the test without me being present?
Obviously I'm going to insist on attending.
It is being carried out by a SALT and an assistant, who I happen to know is not a qualified therapist.
