How to get the right school

I don't know if anyone remembers but at the end of the school year I had an awful time with the LA when they said dd was out of school and had a place for her in a school not of our choosing
The manager overturned that decision on the last day of term and she stayed at her school
The mainstream school cannot meet need so we do need a SN school
There are 3 possibilities
The LA want her to attend their school and said it will be a financial decision
Travel is an issue. The LA school was in special measures and, although improving, had a grim ofsted last year. There is only 1 girl in the class. Ofsted stated high staff and a lack of understanding about children's issues as ongoing problems
The other 2 schools are private. I would only want one of them but I have to look at all schools to argue my point
Does anyone have any advice as to how to achieve our aim
