SN children

Typical pushchair for a larger sn child

I don't want a sn pushchair , I like an all terrain pushchair but my son has outgrown his mountain buggy . Does anyone use a typical child's pushchair for their 4 year old or older ? I'm looking at the baby joggers elite and summit or the out and about nipper .. Just trying to find some recommendations or advice . Thanks .

Ds uses a baby jogger when we go for walks or camping, he uses a sn buggy the rest of the time.

He is 5, but he is pretty small, about 2nd centile height (97cm I think), and he doesn't look very comfortable in the baby jogger - it isn't much bigger than the Mountain Buggy - if he was any bigger he would be scrunched up. Plus there is no support, so I wouldn't use it more than occasionally, his sn buggy is much more supportive.

We used to have a double 360, and I would have said that was about the same size as the Mountain Buggy too.

Occasionally the SN Mountain Buggies come up on ebay - would a Sn all terrain buggy be an option?

Have you seen the Special tomato buggies, they make a 3 wheeler which copes off road really well. 2 of my friends have them!

I have a phil n teds for my massive three year old. Mind you I don't think the tyres cope well under his weight.

My bigger than average dd1 used a Phil & red sport way past the age of 5 (in fact, she still squeezed into it this year aged 10 when we were using it for her younger brother! Shock Grin she is currently about 5ft tall, just for info). It really is a total workhorse, and can cope with just about anything.

The special tomato jogger is worth a look. It is aimed at chdren up to about 10, but 11 year old dd1 fits fine (and it is much easier to push with her in than the P&T was!)

Oh, meant to say, the Special Tomato is huge. Much longer than a standard pushchair, and pretty big and bulky when folded too.

The Phil and Teds is a mare to push with a bigger child in, imo. It completely did my back in - we switched to the 360 side by side and it was so much better.

If you're on facebook, there are pages dedicated to buying and selling sn equipment - worth trying for buggies

Thank you .. I think I'm going to try and find a baby jogger elite . It will keep us going for another year and then hopefully his stamina will be better . .. If not I'll just rethink it .

We had a baby jogger mini city and it was great. I've been told the elite is not as big or sturdy but no personal experience.

Thank you , the elite is supposed to be exactly that , bigger and stronger .. I still haven't found a stockist to try one yet though! ??
