This afternoon I am off to school to meet with teacher, head master, school nurse & ed phsych to see if we can come up with a way of managing DDs fatigue & exhaustion. Her peadiatric nurse is coming along to be on our side but school are so defensive and if truth be told I am battle weary & scared.

Mainstream school and physical disabilities do not go well together. Any advice?

Good luck. MS can most definatly met physical problems, the issue is that they aren't empowered to. The LA have funded a few physically struggling children that I know of. Getting people on board seems to be harder.

How old is dd?

I have heard of schools who manage this, eg GCSE student who had to lie down for 5 to 10 minutes every lesson (hypermobility related fatigue there). So they just provided her with a mat and found ways for her to catch up at home.
She did her exams with much the same arrangement

Denial and disbelief are the issues - once it is understood by everyone that it is a real issue with real solutions that won't cause a massive problem then you could be away.

School have agreed to 3 short breaks and bringing her in early from lunch. Also getting her a laptop to minimise writing and homework Monday to Monday instead of Monday to Friday. Will wait and see if any of this happens though, they have promised us help before that has never come through.
