I want ds2 who has asd to go to a sn school, There is no way he could cope in mainstream imo, and I feel that I know him best. Can I insist or do I have to abide by the decision of the 'powers that be'. There is very little education provision for sn children in our area and have considered relocating because of this.

Does your ds have a Statement?. If not I would apply for one yourself; you do not need school to do it for you.

You could name the school on such a document.

IPSEA could advise you further in this regard and I would suggest you contact them asap.

www.ipsea.org.uk

Their lines are always busy but be persistant and you will get through to them.
