Hi- I have used a company called "Fledglings" to help me get things i cannot find but NEED for my Autistic sons. They source out 'anything' to make life easier for disabled children and their families....and in the current newsletter they have featured the Major and another buggie called a Pixi.
They provide a service where you email a description of what you need and they will find a price and order details- also if it's something that 'doesn't exist' but 'could be made' they even have cotacts with manufacturers keen to assist in providing the 'gadet' or whatever!!!

Here's their details:

Contact Ruth Lingard (that's who i have dealt with)....or Lesley Mills or Jane Bryant.

Sorry I know nothing specific to your need- but recommend this company 10000000%

Hi viva

Yes, you can repair split raincovers. What you need is clear all weather tape, which is used in DIY, and is strong & fairly waterproof. One of my local shops sells the stuff for about £1.50, if you have trouble finding some let me know & I'll post you some at cost.

BTW, if you want to try waterproof coveralls, first borrow one of the ones for pushchairs from a friend to see if your child likes them or not, or test one out in a baby shop. I bought one when my AS son was younger, and he just couldn't tolerate it, he screamed and screamed every time I tried it. (The PVC they are made from makes quite loud rustling when child moves, and they are quite constrictive - child can't move arms freely- & reduce child's field of vision). Also remember that they don't protect child's face from wind or rain, so if your child doesn't like feeling wet or windswept its probably best to stick with a raincover.
