Just came back from CDC.
They want to do a full assesment and have put her on the waiting list.

We are talking Cerebral Palsy as hemiplegia is a form of CP the consultant said.

He said she will need help for a long time.

So how come when i already knew she has CP i am feeling very tearful?
Its not like its a shock.

Jenk :(

Dx'es are horrible even when you've been hoping for one IYKWIM. Be kind to yourself. xxx

Thanks CT
I think as well when you go to appointments they always seem to focus on the negative side and i know that i push it to the back of my mind usually.

It is horrible I think it kind of feels final iykwim. We had read reports & known for months that ds has cp but when consultant formally told us dx in Jan I turned into a blubbering mess, thought I was going to crack up.
I guess it must be a normal reaction. If it helps it does get better let yourself have a few tears & maybe a little pampering would help? Take care.

Hi jenk hope you are feeling a bit better. I went through the same thing and even though we know whats coming it still takes us time to come to terms with. No matter how prepared we think we are.
