Hi lilipad,

My dd has just recently been diagnosed with ODD also, and it basically from what i can figure is what the dx states, although to extreme levels.

We were told at first that dd had ADHD and after 2 years she was dx'ed with ODD, but now they think it is assosiated with ADHD, and usually, if you look the difinition up on the web, they go pretty much hand in hand.

She is a total nightmare and is constantly defiant, destructive, argumentitive and a down right problem.

I have seen many pro's, but don't really get any extra support, although hopefully that will change now that we have a family centre worker who is monitering her behaviour at home and put it this way "it isn't good", but then that isn't bad as she is seeing what goes on.

If you ever need to talk, i am usually lurking around somewhere.

Take care for now.

Hi Lilipad,

i have had to push for 2 years to get any help with either children, and still really don't have much, we dont even have a social worker for dylan and he is disabledShock

Basically, the SS runs a family centre and since october last year, chloe has been attending behaviour thearapy of which came to an end in march, but as they could see that i needed help still, they decided at the centre, not SS, much to there annoyance though that they would send a family support worker round on a 12 week course to see if she can help identify the problems at home and then she will put in a referral back to ss with an assesment and diary on what she has witnessed in the hope to get me some support.

I also use the local home start agency and the 2 visits per week are invaluble and i have made a good family friend through it.

It may be worth you finding out if you have a sure start or home start in your area.

In the meantime, i would see your pead or HV, to ask what they can do for you both now in regards to getting help and support.

Thinking of you and hope all goes well.
