Not to get involved with the previous thread but I'm watching the US presidential inauguration and Stanbridge Earls just popped up on the breaking news. I assume it will be covered at some point.

Really, can we do without this sort of post and these little digs? It seems to me that there are too many worthwhile threads disrupted, and perfectly genuine posters driven away, by some of the self-appointed Mumsnet police round here.

Thanks for dragging up an old post and being so unnecessarily ggressive. It was Mumsnet who removed the posts on the previous thread and who removed these when they had been posted again despite being previously deleted.

I don't see any evidence of people being driven away. I have, however, seen evidence of professionals lurking on the board to get business

Its funny that there is so much fury at Stanbridge Earls by so many. The place does look as if it has failed to succeed in its mission to remain independent so let's all hope that when the new school Morehouse buys its assets it can produce a better school for as many SEN children as it can. The new school will be a totally different place for sure with a different student profile so I am not sure how the old pupils will fit in-if at all. Worrying that many there will need to leave i suspect and go where I wonder? Surely it is those poor children we should all be sorry for- it seems that the staff have let them down badly by not managing a school that is worthy of survival. How about an apology please to parents and pupils for the one big mess that has been caused?

Grossomodo.....thank you. I'm a mom of a student from Stanbridge. So far, our two weeks of summer holiday have been spending countless hours researching schools, making phone calls and giving a lot of hugs to my confused and immensely sad DS. At least every other day he asks me why he can't go back to school with his friends this fall. Breaks my heart. So thank you for simply validating our feelings. At this point I don't really hold much interest in the legalities or the details or whatever is in the media. I am too focused on picking up the broken pieces for my son and attempting to convince him that we will be finding him a new boarding school where he will be safe, happy and will make new friends.

Diasee, I am a parent too of a pupil from the school so I know what you are going through big time! It's just a nightmare, all this dislocation, uncertainty. There is little if any alternative provision out there, it needs to be the exact match, it has to be in the right place and a place has to be available etc etc. With so many Stanbridge pupils now looking for so few places it makes it almost impossible so far. And everything is now such a big rush, total nightmare. We feel furious because the school senior staff let all the kids down here BUT also parents simply have not been told sufficient information by this school for us to have been able to make sufficient informed choices. I had no idea of all the background stuff and when it all burst in Jan it was like a massive shock to us. And who could we speak to about it all? Parents find it so hard to connect at a residential school and some of those parents were so fiercely loyal to the school they stopped meaningful communication. Frankly its a nightmare but we are pleased to be out of it all, the place seemed progressively more mad , and they still have not fixed anything! How they imagine any pupils can come back in September and then switch to an uncertain new regime in December is frankly a bizarre notion, it won't work. I can't see this school opening in September.I agree that to pick up the broken pieces is all of our priority, our poor children it is totally bewildering for them and that makes us furious to be placed in such a bad position without any meaningful help really. Anyone know where there is alternative provision please with available places?
