Me and my partner are thinking of trying for another baby we have 1 son who is nearly 5yrs old and has autism, been to my doctors to risk of the child having autism but we dont care we shall love our child unconditionly no matter what and the doctor said about to me to start taking the normal vitamins including folic acid then when i got home decided yo look it up about links with autism and very shockingly there is loads suggesting linkd between the two.

When i was pregnant anything with extra folic acid in i was gobling up thinking about what good it was doing to our unborn child so im just trying to decide now do i take these vitamins now and through the begining of pregnancy or not?

Has anyone else done more reasearch into it as i only had a quick glance as it was scarry stuff thinking i have done this to my baby.

It must be a tough call - my ds has Spina Bifida, and I wouldn't want to risk any child having that because their mother was told that there would be a risk of autism from folic acid. I love him dearly, but there are so many things that he finds difficult and other things he'll never be able to do. I really hope that this research is wrong. Things like this make people panic, and I would hate any other child to go through what my ds has had to, and will have to, go through. By the way, I took folic acid, and he still has SB!
