Got a phonecall tonight from the ASD specialist that we have asked to asess DS.
Told him everything that has happened with CAMHS,School,EWO and now that they are trying to put the blame on our parenting skills and have suggested that we go on a parenting course Angry
He said "And this parenting course is going to magic away all of DS symptoms/behaviours is it"?
He asked me loads of questions about DS, and when i apologised for being blunt he said"dont apologise, thats one of the perks of having AS, and i have worked for over 30 years with people who are on the Autistic Spectrum and rarely get offended" Smile, i thought that was nice of him to say and immediately put me at ease.
He asked what we wanted for DS education wise and what we had been offered and i told him nothing, he told me of the nearest school for AS and ive looked it up on the internet it looks good.
I said to him "Im not trying to tell you your job here but me and DH do think that DS is ASD"
He said that rarely does he have to tell parents that they are barking up the wrong tree as parents are usually right about their children but that if he did think that we were wrong then he wouldnt hesitate in telling us.
He is going to come and see us and "have a look at the young fella"!
He couldnt believe that CAMHS have said no to ASD when they have only observed him in a clinical setting.

So feel relieved now, we have checked him out with the NAS and he comes highly recommended.

Will keep you posted. Smile

woke up this morning after having a proper nights sleep in ages, think it helped talking to the psych and telling him things and having him just listen and not blame my parenting skills. Smile

Jenk1, FANTASTIC!

This sounds so familar one setting and no observations in school and they dismiss the child and say it's bad parenting.

I am really pleased for you, please keep us posted. It's a shame the professionals don't listen to the mothers more carefully. larsxx
