Dizzy I thought It might help if I told you all about dd.
as i said she is 10 and has afetoid cp. she can't talk/walk or do most things. She can sort of crawl/ bunny hop. She can play and amuse herself. But other than that she needs help with everything. she goes to a special school where she has been since she was 3. She will move up in to secondry in september. she also has respite ther. She has epilepsy but not too bad.
She is very bright/ understands EVERYTHING and is trying to talk and has lots of words that are quite clear.
I also have a nt dd age 14
I just thought I would put this all on here as if you are like me I get confused as to who has what.
I am sorry to hear your dd has had such a bad time. It is hard enough in the first few years as it is.does he have to have ab's all the time. DD was on a half dose for ages to ward of ear infections.

Did i read somewhere that you live on the wirral? I live not far from there in widnes. Harry is on ab from oct - apr, but i think we will leave off them for a bit to see if his tummy improves. Did you only find out about the cp when your dd didnt develop as she should? Does it get harder to cope as they get older? Thats my worry at the moment. i get some days when i am really down and others when i cope fine. i think i just get tired at times cos i work 4 days a week as a social worker.

no I live in Brighton. dd was dx at 10months. She was being watched i think as they knew that she had cp from birth!!! we are taking legal action against the hospital.
In some ways she is harder now she is older but I have to say I think you just move along with it. I try not to think about the future, Itwill be ok if she wins but if not it will be hard.
no wonder you get tired if you work as well. I am an old mum(44) and just don't know how people manage to work and look after kids even if they don't have sn.
