Paed cancelled- angry Mum!

had a letter to say Sam's Paeds appointment has been cancelled as Paediatrician away (could be something to do with being allocated 23rd December?). Social Services say they cannot now offer Sam a place at a Holiday Scheme as no WELSH paed has diagnosed Sam (as you'll remember, DX came from Somerset Paed).

I complaine to my MP as I had had enough, mentioning all the issues I haev complained about lately re bullying, and got this fat lump of no good:

Dear XXXXXXXXXX,

Thanks for your e-mail . I was sorry to hear about
your anticipated problems with your son's behaviour as
a result of Asperger's Syndrome.

Clearly there are limits to the amount of extra
supervision the school can offer especially at
lunchtime. But the matter is best dealt with directly
with the school and, if necessary, the local
authority. If there is still a problem, your best
approach is to raise it with your local councillors
who have direct responsibility for schools.

Their details are on XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I hope a satisfactory solution can be found.

Yours sincerely,

What a waste of effort . I don't know what party he is as haven't been here long but I will be joining his oppostion next election.

Fuming and very sad for Sam.

I agree with mummyto3. Write to your local paper and shame your MP.

I still can't understand the logic behind needing a Welsh dx. Is it even legal to insist on one?

I'm not sure about the legality, I do know our Gp refuses to do anything without it. Considering CAB as a first stop, unless anyone knows anyone better?

Have you tried phoning the NAS helpline to see what they think about the whole Welsh dx issue? It just sounds so very wrong to me and is clearly a big obstacle to getting services and help.
