Does anyone know how long it takes?

The recorded message on the helpline says that you should allow around 8 weeks for a new claim but it varies quite a lot. Ds1's claim only took 2 or 3 weeks. Ds2's claim took over 4 months but even the helpline staff admitted that this was excessive.

It can take ages but they do backdate it to when you first put the claim in

I got ours back in 7 days BUT we had a full leeter from paed and might amounts of documentation and a full clinical diagnosis backed up by tons of specialists etc.

Had letter today saying they have received our form and to allow 8 weeks. I did send all reports on ds plus the one from ed psych and 3 statements from people that know him.
