Have you been told you will get a statement? I have a dyspraxic child and didn't get a statement for him (school action plus was as far as we got).

I also have a child with dyspraxia. She os now 14 and we have never had a statement for her. She is on school action plus. She was seen by an educational phsycolagist last year and it was decided that she should stay on school action plus. The last time she saw one was when she was 8! although she did have a review in year 6.

We're trying to get a diagnosis of Dyspraxia for DS, he's in year 5 and is still struggling to spell some of the reception words. School have always been on side, but I've been told this morning that a meeting has been set up with the new lady in charge of our local learning support service.

I first asked the learning support service for a statement 3 years ago when ds was in yr2, they said that it wouldn't be necessary. He's been on school action plus since yr2. We've also been told that we're near the top of the list for occupational therapy after 2½ yrs on the waiting list.

Am off to post for advice now on the statementing procedure.

My son is 11 and has just moved up to secondary education and he hasn't been statemented. At primary he received help in the form of medical hours about 6 a week. They didn't last long though and we now have to go through the process all over again. What annoys me is he is automatically put in the lowest set in subjects as they receive more help but in a couple of them he is clever enough to be put in the better ones! Not enough help for him there though, theres justice for you!
