Find school in Eastbourne for dyspraxic, high level autistic, dyslexic son

Help! I'm moving to Eastbourne (Sovereign Harbour) and have an 8 yr old son who is dyspraxic, dyslexic, ADHD and I'm told about to be diagnosed with high functioning/level austism. He will be starting year 5 in September. He is on school action plus under the SENCO currently and no hope of getting a statement.

I also have a 6 year old son who will be starting year 2. As I'm new to the area I have no ideas about schools and need to find one that will help and support my 8 year old. His current school has failed miserably.

Can any one tell me of good schools that I can try?

Why 'no hope of getting a statement'. With all those conditions (my son has the same without Adhd) you should be on target for one. Go round and interview SENCos

I agree with Flappingandflying - who has told you no hope of statement - wouldn't be the senco by any chance?! If you think your child needs more help at school then you can request a statutory assessment, which is usually turned down and then you appeal. However the legislation is changing and i'm not sure now how you go about it now. you could contact SOSSEN or IPSEA.

Have a look at West Rise in Langney. I don't know anything about it as SEN but I've heard its a great school with farm etc and lots of 'hands on' activity,and is accessible from the Harbour.

I realise this was last year but wondered which school you chose for your son? We are in similar position. We are looking at West Rise too. Was that your choice?
