Sling for a toddler

I'm thinking about getting a sling / carrier for my 12month old DD. She's started walking and isn't very happy in the pram because she wants to be on her feet. I think I'm looking for something that I can get her in and out of really really easily so if we are in the shops I can chuck her in when I'm fed up of her snails pace. I'd like something that will still do when she's mainly walking but wants "carried" when she gets tired.

Any suggestions? Thanks ladies x

I'd recommend a pouch sling for quick up and down carries. The Hotslings adjustable one is really good because you can adjust it (obviously LOL but most can't) so you can get it really comfy depending on what coats etc you've got on. Really quick and easy to use. www.baby-bean.com/hotslings-adjustable-pouch-p-153.html

I use a huggababy with my BIG 15 month old. It's a ring sling, and it works fine - it's just like carrying her on my hip but I have my hands free. I usually take the pram out but have the sling stashed underneath for moments when she's not so keen on it.

Ergo on your back - her weight sits on your hips so doesn't feel heavy.

Ring or pouch sling for lots of up and down, but if she wants to be carried for a while once she's tired, then try something like a connecta which is easy and comfortable, and adding a sleep hood makes it last much longer.

DS is just 2 and DH still uses ours (I can't because its not comfortable when pregnant!) It doesn't support his head but the sleep hood does that when required.
