Connecta integra or boba 3G?

Am being indecisive....was going to get a connecta but then saw a boba for only £8 more, are they much better or not much in it? DS is 10 mo and weighs 10kg if that makes a difference, thanks!

Those 2 are pretty different - the connecta has an unpadded waist, straps which have to cross for a front carry and are quite lightly padded. The boba has fixed straps, so no crossing either front or back, padded waistband, more padded shoulder straps. Do you have a sling library / meet nearby? It would be worth trying both before deciding.

Nearest sling library / meet is 2 and a half hours away so no way of trying beforehand Sad
I used a stretchy wrap until recently which isn't comfortable any more, but he is unputdownable for naps and when trying to potter with DS1, I have a macpac for proper walking I just want something to wear him in around the house and the garden, going to shops etc.

I have the boba 3G and love it. Both ds who is 10m and dd who is 3.5 but small still love going in it. The stirrups mean even dd's hip positioning is still good. It is very comfortable. Ihave never used a connecta.

I prefer the Connecta I gave to my DSIL above the boba 3G I replaced it with. I don't like the chest strap on the boba and am never really comfortable. I thought DS was too big for the Connecta, but he wasn't, he just isn't cooperative about getting into them!

Hmm, I think the fact you can cross the chest straps on the connecta would make it more comfortable? I'm quite small framed I don't know if one of them would be more suitable for my shape (my back is really narrow)? I think I imagined the boba is better as it is more expensive Wink wish there was somewhere here I could try them!

I love my connecta but for me it's incredibly uncomfortable wearing it on my back. I need the support of a padded belt otherwise I can't get it not to pull dreadfully on my shoulders.

I've been looking at a Boba 3G too. I also have no sling library near me so I was going to hire one online from Slumberroo or similar for two weeks to see how I get on with it.

Hi juniper, didn't realise you could hire them online, will look into that. Do you mind me asking what weight your doc is that you don't find them comfortable on your back in the connecta?

The last time I tried DS1 was 13 months old and weighed about 10kg/22lb. Many people do use them for much bigger babies/toddlers though so maybe I just don't have strong shoulder/back muscles?

Hmm, DS2 weighs about 10kg now. Do you mind me asking where you bought yours, seem to be out of stock in all the nice prints and difficult finding a second hand one!

I've just bought a connecta, but I tried out a boba for a bit too. I went for the connecta because the hood is much better for getting my dd (7 months) to sleep, and also because it's much less bulky so you can fold it up and put it in a bag.
I found the connecta better than the boba for front carries as you can't cross over the straps on a boba, which is prob quite important if you have a narrow back.
I also managed to carry my 3.5 year old about a mile onmy back in the foh?gffh connecta. Tiring but ok!
Probably worth you getting the toddler connecta (identical just slightly bigger) unless your baby is quite small

Ok I'm sure I bought it directly from Connecta themselves, looking at the site though, they only seem to make a few designs at a time, doing a limited run of each one and moving on. Mine is a zoo animal theme a bit like the deer one but its not there anymore.

I still find mine very useful as a quick light sling for running into shops and so-on, with DS2 on my front. Its extremely comfortable for that even though he is getting a bit tall and leggy for front carries really. Its easily the most simple of my carriers. If we were having this conversation 6-8 months from now I would probably sell mine to you.

Hmm, I think I will go for a connecta then, thanks everyone, now to actually find one to buy! I tried to add slings and things fsot on FB but they haven't approved me.....I must look dodgy! Have tried baby wearing fsot on FB but one I liked they are asking the same price as it would be new! A bit cheeky! Any ideas where else to look? Am not very good at ebay I find it too frustrating and always get outbid at last second Wink
