Sling suggestion for an 8-month old please!

Hi
My daughter's 8 months old and up until now we've been doing grand with our Ergo. She's only 16lbs and on the 15th percentile so I'm hoping I can carry her in a sling for quite a bit longer as I really like it and she seems to as well. However, as much as I love my Ergo it doesn't have a forward-facing option, and I think she might enjoy that so wondered if it was worth investing in a second sling. I was wondering about a Kari Me or similar, but feel a bit confused so grateful for any pointers!
Thanks in advance

We had a mothercare 3 way one face in or out on front or on back (but never used that way)

Facing out wouldn't support her legs so well, and because her legs would dangle pulls her centre of gravity away from yours so puts lots of strain on your upper back.

Have you tried a hip carry with your ergo as an alternative?

Most decent slings don't have forward facing options as you don't get good hip and spine support in that position - baby's chest should be towards you.

Kari Me and other stretchy wraps are only suitable for small babies really - you could try a woven wrap but not sure if you can do a forward facing position in them either?

However, at 8 months you can definitely put her on your back so she can look over your shoulder. If you can't get her high enough in the ergo then maybe a woven would be better.

Alternatively a ring sling can be used on your hip too.

Aaah - ok thanks ladies that is helpful. I'll try the hip and back positions with the Ergo as my next stop. And then if that doesn't work will try the other suggestions. I think she is getting a tad bored of looking at her Mummy sadly! Thanks for the help.
