Anyone else not love the Ergo?

We bought an Ergo Sport a while back thinking that it would be quicker than woven wraps for back carries with DD (now 21 months and ~24lb), with the advantage of no tails brushing the ground in rainy weather.

While our au pair loves it, DH uses it sometimes, and I can get on with it as long as there's someone else around to help me, I just can't seem to get the hang of getting DD on my back by myself. Once it's on and DD is in place, it's never 100% comfortable however I adjust it.

Even using it for a front carry seems much less comfortable than using my woven wraps so I've pretty much given up.

It's a bit disappointing because everyone else seems to love them so much (and it was easily the most expensive carrier I've ever bought...). I love carriers generally and am comfortable taking DD for a 10 mile walk in a well-tied wrap.

I wonder if it's because I'm so much shorter than DH and AP and the Ergo body is too long for me or something like that.

Anyone else not get on with the Ergo? Did you learn to love it eventually?

I have never loved it, it is way too short in the body and will never have the adjustablity to all body shapes a wrap or even mei tai will.

I never bought one though I've just tried other peoples. You should sell it on and get a new wrap Grin You should be able to get most of what you paid for it.
