Moby wearers - advice on back/side carrying

I have a Moby which we both love but DS is getting quite big and heavy for the front carry which I usually use. He also keeps pushing back so he can look at my face and 'escaping' from the top wrap. I think he's just gotten a bit big for it. I only use it facing towards me as he doesn't like facing forwards in it.

I keep seeing that it is suitable for back carry or side carry but can't find any instructions online for how to wrap it or whether these are suitable for his age/weight.

He is almost 5 months but 99th percentile and was 20lb at last weigh in a month ago. He has outgrown his clothes since then so is probably much bigger now.
He is sitting unsupported for a few minutes at a time and is very strong.

Anybody have any advice as to whether there are any better holds I can use for him? Would these be suitable for his age? And where I can find instructions?

tbh I'd invest in a different sling, either a woven wrap or (my choice) an Ergo

It sounds like a good time to switch to hip or back carries, but a Moby is not the sling to use.

Stretchy Wraps really aren't suitable for back carries. You just can't get it secure enough with that amount of stretch.

If you like your Moby, I'd really recommend a Woven Wrap. Loads of different ones available.

Excellent. Thanks for all the advice. I think I might head along to the next sling meet in my area and see if I can test drive a few different ones.
