Has anyone used this sling? Is it as comfortable as it looks? Smile

i hired one for a week or so and it looked great etc but my problem was the straps - they were really wide apart and felt like they were slipping off my shoulders all the time. it's american so maybe that has something to do with it?? Lovely fabric and patterns and nice long body and could have been really comfy! my ds was too young to use the possibly gimmicky footstraps. hth

thanks very much for your response camflower, the things that appeal to me about the Boba really are the footstraps and the long back as although my DS is just approaching 6 months (and just over 7.5kgs) he is quite long so thought he may not grow out of this so quickly. I'm torn between this and the ergo which I have just tried and actually quite liked.I also like the look of the angelpack.

What did you plump for in the end?

the boba is pretty vast, i expect it would last for years! i went for a rose & rebellion in the end, which is great - simple, lightweight - but i spent weeks obsessing over which make cos there are just so many. manduca is supposed to be good. for the record, a friend with an ergo tried the boba 2g when i hired it and loved it. said she would have got that instead if she'd known ... good luck!

I tried the manduca and really liked it though DS just didn't seem to be able to get comfy in it. I think I may hire the boba first just in case but I'm hoping it will fit the bill! Thanks again Smile

Honestly I wouldn't go for an Ergo at this stage, I've got a toddler Patapum and that's brilliant (have tried an ergo and it's nowhere near as comfy, then again this was when DS was around 18 months!) and have seen this, which although it comes from a sling selling website (and I'd imagine they make more money on the boba so possibly biased) seems to say the Boba is miles better than the Patapum. If I was choosing again I think I'd probably go with the Boba even though it's more expensive.

There's a video on that page too and the woman modelling it looks fairly slim so I don't know that the straps are particularly designed for larger people. Did you use the chest clip, camflower? My Patapum's straps constantly feel as though they are slipping off if I don't use it on that.

hi bertiebotts - i did use the chest clip on the boba 2g but the straps really did feel as if they were falling off. i really wanted to want it (gorgeous colours!) but the strap thing was too much of a problem (at the time)
