What's your Xmas strategy?

In 12 weeks into SW and going great - got my 2.5 stone award tonight. Plenty more to go.

I'm curious as to how everyone will tackle Xmas. I'm thinking that I'll have 3 days "off" (Xmas eve til Boxing Day) then get back on it. Anything I lose between now and 23rd is my weight to put on then lose again! So I keep my 2.5 stones off at all times. Then back on it again and get stuck in to the remaining weight.

I've done WW lots in the past and have form for "falling off the wagon" then failing to get back on for ages. Really don't want to do this this time but I do want to not deny myself totally over the season.

Do you think my plan sounds realistic? What's your plan?

Well done on your weight loss! That's fab Smile I started group on Saturday and bought the 12 week diary and I'd love to lose as much as you have in that time.

I am similar to you, where I'll stop it for a while and not get back on for ages. For Christmas, I'm going all in and sticking to the plan.
I've bought the Festive book and will be making a menu from that. The website also has a new 'Grotto' support area.

I really, really want to use the new J.O Christmas book that DH treated me to. However, it's just one day vs my health and weight. I know I'll regret it afterwards if I have a few days 'off'

I'll be off plan 24th, 25th, 26th. Back on plan until New Year's Eve. New Year's Day we finish all the junk food off, then back on it for the 2nd.

But I've also bought a lot less of everything. Smaller boxes of chocs/biscuits etc.

"Normal SW" menu most of the time. Go out for a few meals, few drinks - enjoy them, then back on track the following day / next meal.

I'm not really entertaining at my house this year, combination of others hosting & being on call, so I'm not buying in party-food / chocolates etc etc unless I truly know they'll be used (by others!!).

I'd love the get my 4 1/2 stone award by Christmas - as of last week I only had one lb to go. But if I maintain over the next month, I'd be more than delighted.

Think I'm going for similar, definitely going to try to stick to it when I can, but enjoy the season also!

Try to stay on plan except for Xmas Day. If I can't manage that, stick as close to plan as I can and make the best choices with what's available and not go overboard.

Sounds good snoozy, it's the cheese and wine I struggle to avoid!

I'm taking SW slowly, a pound a week on average which allows me to go off plan (within reason) several days a week without it being a problem. I'm also 12 weeks or so in and this is far longer than I've lasted on previous weightloss attempts. So I'm sticking to that.

This is my twelfth SW Christmas I'll be mainly following the plan. Doing SP meals/days before and after Christmas day. I also try to do completely Free breakfasts and avoid beige food so no pastry except my nut roast Wellington which I make for the veggies. I make scan bran Xmas muffins and freeze in boxes of three and six so I get those out if everyone is having mince pies and always have an emergency hi first bar in my bag for when coffee and cake calls. Alcohol is my free for all I don't count it over Christmas I allow myself whatever I want. I once put on 9lbs in ten days over Christmas by having 'days off' didn't lose it til end of March I'm never doing that again.

This is me, too: it just isn't worth it to me.
I will enjoy meals out on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and I am working a 12-13 hour shift on Christmas Day, probably with just a short break for a dinner.
I will be having plenty of SP meals either side of these "off- plan"meals, so that hopefully I won't go out of my target weight.
But SW is all about making personal choices, so we all must decide what is best for us.
I know from previous years that the group will be packed to the rafters the first week after New Year!

2 and half stone In 12 weeks is amazing, you have "off plan" as long as you feel is ok for you, and you know you won't feel bad for what ever you put on (you might loose or stay the same for the good days you have). I have been going to sw for 11 month and lost 3 stone 3 lb, and my weight loss has slowed right down so am going to try enjoy Christmas day and boxing with the kids eating what I want but not going over board. My personal choice .. what ever you decide am sure you will enjoy it Christmas is a time to have fun smile and be happy xx
