My ds is 4 months old now and I need to do something about the pregnancy and after pregnancy weight. I'm still breastfeeding at the moment and I am so hungry all the time. I've had success using lighter life before but I can't do this and BF, so slimming world it is!

Is there any tips/ tricks I can do to maximise my weight loss, I've never done slimming world before but colleagues at my work have had big success

Just be patient until you get the hang of it ;-) I only started 10 days ago and nearly didnt do it because I didnt understand it! But so far am happy I stuck with it, its not as restrictive as it first appears and there are lots of things myself and family enjoy eating on this plan so far.

I cant comment on boosting weightloss as I have only just begun myself, I have opted not to weigh myself for now, as I always get upset and scale obsessed, however, my jeans (which were too tight at the start) certainly fit more comfortably since I started and I hope that will continue!

Good luck!

Hello! I am bf on sw. Someone will come along with a chart about all the extra Healthy Extras you're allowed. Please make sure you use them all AND all your syns so that you and baby have enough nutrients

I found the plan sooo simple and almost common sense, its fab!

Gipsy, your consultant will explain everything at your new members' talk when you go today.
Follow the plan and you can't go wrong.
You will be supported by your consultant and fellow group members, so ask about anything you're not sure of.
I've always found SW members to be friendly, non- judgemental people, and of course we're all there for the same reason.
I've only recently signed up to MN, but have found the SW members on here to be very helpful and supportive, too.
Good luck: you have lots of lovely meals to look forward to, and there's never a need to go hungry.

Ahh! Don't know why but I'm so nervous to go. I guess I've had my head in the sand so long I'm scared to face up to what I've done Sad

Is the group tonight, Gipsy?

I was similarly nervous, although my overweight status is purely food, nothing to do with having a baby.

Since 01/06, I have lost 1st 3 1/2lbs and I'm pretty happy with that. Got another 6 st to lose at least. Listen to your consultant tonight, and get your head round food optimising, and get a couple of books as they at least give you new inspiration if your standby recipes are not very SW friendly.

I've not had anything I didn't like yet.

I know it's easy for others to say, Gipsy, but you don't need to be scared.
You will be made welcome; everyone's there for the same reason, and you'll be amongst new friends.
Tell the consultant quietly about your nerves: she'll have come across that many times.
If you can just pluck up the courage to walk through that door, you won't look back.
Listen to your Aunty chough.

Thank you aunty 😚
It all seems so confusing just now, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Don't worry, you will get the hang of it.
No need to cook if you don't want to, or just simple cooking: the SW website has some good ideas for very easy meals.

I went to my first thr other day and it was really good. Gonna take a while to get my head round it all but managed to have a full day on plan yesterday - and it was easy enough so we can do it!!

I love SW, joined Jan 2014, got to target (2 stone) in November that year, really enjoyed newfound bodyconfidence, went from size 16 to size 12! Loved being able to cope with heat better in Tenerife in July that year and walk around in skimpy clothes confidently. Maintained new body but recently rejoined to get back into being more controlled about eating. Did leave in March this year and put on weight due to being a little too relaxed! I would say that I really appreciate what SW has helped me achieve but I have to keep reminding myself to look at big picture and not stress over every pound.
