Slimming World

'twas the night before weigh in, what do you do before being weighed

I have to admit I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow's weigh in after my first week of slimming world.

Do you not worry that just by going to the loo you can lose a false pound?Hmm

Do you eat/drink beforehand?

I've worked so hard I'd hate for a cup of tea or glass of water to make it look like I've done nothing!

Advice/Reassurance needed

Hi KP

I've been doing SW for 4 weeks and have lost half a stone. I have a light breakfast of yoghurt and fruit but I weigh in at 11am so easier than an evening weigh in. I'd maybe have soup for lunch if I got weighed in evening.
Last week I got weighed and I was 12 stone exactly - then I got weighed again without my cardigan and I was 11stone 13lbs! Dress light lol!! Good luck :-)

I imagine that some people (me included) will do the same thing each week.

In my case I wear leggings and a top as that is what I wore the first week. Won't wear jeans as that could change the weight

I go to a morning weigh in and only have a mug of coffee before going as the first week I ran out of time and didn't have breakfast. I m am too scared to eat as it might affect my weight

Have no idea if any of it would make a difference

Good luck for tomorrow

I go to the same group (wherever possible - if I can't make my Thursday group, I go to a similarly timed group on a different day).

I wear the same clothes every week (leggings and a particular top).

I don't eat or drink beforehand (9.30 class) but have my breakfast (overnight oats/breakfast muffins/iceland meatballs/fruit or similar) ready to eat afterwards.

Even if I've been immediately before leaving the house, I have to wee on arrival at group (a 30 second drive/3 minute walk). I call it Pavlov's wee, like the one your mum makes you have before you go on a long journey as a child It's a bonus if I've been for a poo before group, but it doesn't happen every week

As long as you follow the same routine (ie wear similar-weight clothes, don't jump from jeans one week to leggings the next etc; either always eat just beforehand or never eat beforehand) you can be pretty much assured that the weigh in will be accurate

I have always wore the same clothes. My group starts at 9.30am and I always have two mugs of tea in the mornings before weigh in.
I used to go to a evening class and always ate the same light breakfast and lunch on my weigh in day.

My weigh in is at 10am so I've tried to wee a lot this morning and only had 1 cup of tea, I will eat afterwards. I'm wearing the same clothes as last week. My tummy is grumbling now I don't know how I will keep it quiet during the meeting, all that talk of food won't help!

Grab a hifi bar or some fruit. Everyone eats just after they've weighed on a morning group!

My weigh in is bloody 7pm, which is an absolute pain in the arse. I don't really eat breakfast much anyway, but I will have soup for lunch, then nothing until my weigh in.

I wear the same outfit every week, and always change my pantyliner just before going LOL. Not sure why - just a habit.

BUT I got my 1 and a half stone certificate last night. It has took me 5 weeks to lose it. I am well bloody chuffed.

Just got back from my first weigh in and I've lost 6.5lbs which I'm happy with, lots of pressure to keep it up, I'm not sure that much is possible each week.

Well done Kp

I lost 7lb in the first week and 7lb in the second week, so it is possible.

I then lost:
Week 3: 2.5lb
Week 4: 1.5lb
Week 5: 3lb.

I keep having to think omg, this 'diet' is just too easy. What's the catch.

A long time ago I tried out a few outfits on the scales, most trousers weigh the same to be honest. I also weigh immediately before I go to group, I know that my scales are exactly 1.5lb heavier than sw scales. On the day I always eat normally as I go to a 3pm group- if one week you don't eat, you won't want to in future and it can be a very long day. I also drink lots of water In the morning and have my last drink about 2hrs before weigh in. To be honest, this is all 'cheating' behaviour because when I've been good all week I don't feel the need to do any of this, its only when I know I'm not on plan. I've lost about 10 stone over the years with sw, gained and regained pregnancy weight. This time round i've lost 1.5 stone, 2 stone to go!

I weigh at home as I'm an online member. I always weigh on a Monday morning just after I've got up and had a wee. My scales are placed in exactly the same place every week, and I'm always wearing just my underwear!

My class is 8.30am, so I have nothing before then have a big mug of tea with fruit or cereal bar at the meeting. Always wear same jeans, different tops. Visit loo as many times as I can between 7.30 and 8.30. Daft I know.
