Does anyone have a day/night off occasionally?

I originally started SW online at the start of the year but it really didn't suit me so I transferred to a group. Started properly last week and have been doing pretty well. I have a few events coming up and I would really love to go and just enjoy myself, have a few drinks, eat what I want etc but don't know if I really just cannot do this any more. I am serious about my weight loss but the thought of never having my favorite lamb passanda from the local Indian restaurant makes me want to sob into my healthy extras.

Does anyone have a day off at the weekend or something?

I do, i would go nuts otherwise! I just make sure that I'm super good for the rest of the week and it's usually fine.

I have a day off every now and again. Not every weekend, maybe once a month? I don't have much of a social life thanks to 2 small kids so when I go for meals I have what I want. I have found that I have been choosing healthier options without really thinking about it. It's a slippery slope for me, if I gave myself time off every weekend I wouldn't be being honest with myself and finding a way of eating that works for the long term but still allows me not to feel deprived. losing weight is difficult and even harder if you don't enjoy yourself every now and then

If you wrote it down, every weekend. I try to plan for that but as mrmac says if I go out, I go out. It has to fit my life not fit me into it.
This weekend was 6nations full day out, this weekend coming starts on Thursday on tour. Fit that in without falling off the wagon.

Once a week, on my way back from weighing in/group, I have a wispa to celebrate!

I didn't have a day off while I was losing the weight as didn't want to halt my progress, but once I hit target I had a treat once a week and then back on it the next day. I might have put a lb or two on but it came off quickly again, and because I was at my target it didn't feel like a big deal/didn't bother me Smile

Yes, Chinese tonight. One meal a week is only one meal out of twenty one per week. However, when you do go out, don't opt for the worse food, but try and be healthy. Ie. New potatoes not chips,

I am trying to eat how thin people eat so if I have a day off, I get back on plan the next day and try to use syns flexibly. I'm still not in right mind set yet because I had a relaxed Christmas but then spent a lot of time trying to climb back on wagon! I find that I enjoy my 'treats' so much more than just mindlessly stuffing my face as I did before!

Last night Blush
It was bloody lovely though! Back on plan today.

Next weekend I've got lunch out on Saturday and afternoon tea on Sunday. I'll be good all week and just hope I don't have a gain.

OP, I am into my 4th week of SW and have been attending group since the start. I would absolutely have your favourite foods/drinks on the occasions you have planned. I have a big night out planned in 2 weeks time with friends. I fully intend to drink copious amounts of alcohol and enjoy a classy kebab at the end of the night. The good thing about SW is that we aren't under strict rules. A few days off plan in 365 days certainly won't hurt. Enjoy.

I never have a whole day off, but I try and think in terms of I can have anything I want, but if I do that a lot it will affect my weight loss, so do I really want it or that? So, if I really want something I have it. Or if I have a night out or a meal out, then I have what I want for that night or meal, but stick to plan for the rest of the day. I do try and save my syns the rest of the week, but If I need them I still have them.
