Slimming World

Clean eating and Slimming World

I'm thinking of joining back up to Slimming World as my weight has ballooned these past few months. I've seen mention of using clean eating and slimming world together and I was wondering whether anyone else has tried this? Has it worked out well for you and would you recommend it?

There would be no reason you couldn't go to SW and eat clean if you really need the discipline of the weekly weigh in, but you wouldn't get much use from the talks or recipe books, if I remember right they do recommend a lot of processed crap food. I went a few years ago and got really ragey with it for that very reason, I don't eat that sort of food and I found it really frustrating that someone would say they had 2 muller lights for 'free' when they were 100 cals each and full of additives. I did extra easy and ate real food but I was an oddity, most people were happily bunging bachelors pasta 'n' sauce in their quiche and spraying revolting fry light on potatoes to make chips.

I am kind of doing this. Using minimal processed foods, no low fat yoghurts etc. I use my allowance & syns on smaller amounts of full fat butter or milk rather than see how much 'free' I can fit in. I haven't cut out any food groups, just avoid refined sugar where possible.

Lots of fruit, veg, salad, meat & fish, some carbs but minimal bread. I bought an oil sprayer so I can use my choice of olive oil.

I am not fanatical about it but that's basically what I am doing and I've lost weight every week (bar 1) for 12 weeks, over a stone so far but still lots to go.

I don't do much processed shite and do Slimming world. Lots of proper cooking. Planning ahead. Fruit. Veg. Etc.

What is clean eating? I'm with Atyourcervix actually - I do Slimming World & it's all fruit & veg & cooking from scratch.

I also think it's a good way of eating real food cooked from scratch. Quite surprised at Charlie's experience of it but maybe it depends on the group you go to. I tend to use my syns for butter and oil and the occasional pudding. I don't like artificial sweeteners so if I am making a pud from scratch I will syn the sugar instead.
