Sleep

15 wk old waking up in night and not settling without dummy!

Oh dear - thought we'd cracked it with DS2 sleeping through for about 3 weeks now. Usually goes off with dummy, but at some point spits it out and stays asleep til morning.

But now for about the last week - as soon as the dummy comes out he starts yelling his head off. we have tried leaving him to cry, but he just gets in a right state. Obviously he is a bit young to be able to put it back in himself at the mo - anyone got any suggestions?

Am going to buy a new dummy today and see if that makes any difference - last night we brought him into our bed in desperation at 3am and even then he still grizzled everytime it fell out (but at least we didn't have to stagger to his room in a sleep deprived manner!!)

Anyone else had this? I guess he will just grow out of it, but I am a person who needs their unbroken sleep!

lockets - sorry to hear you getting woken too! I wouldn't mind if he woke cos he was hungry though but he's not!

I just think he's a bit crafty and likes the attention.

Mine did this too at the same age. He stopped after a while though, now spits it out well before he falls asleep. We changed dummies and use the NUK starlight which is very lightweight.

thanks EM. have changed dummy which I think is making a difference - also have increased his feeds by an oz, and the last 2 nights he's not waking as much so maybe things are looking up!!
