6 month old DD suddenly sleeping on side - does it matter

DD is learning to roll, and in the last 24 hours has suddenly taken to sleeping on her side, rolling over about 3/4 of the way once in her cot. I have been rolling her back onto her back, but this can wake her up. I've been diligently putting her on her back for 6 months, do I need to be rolling her back onto her back or can I leave her in peace?

She suffers from reflux, and in the past suffered from sleep apneas so I'm a bit paranoid about everything.

Actually if you think about it the recovery position that you put someone in to help them breathe is on their side - IMO it is a safer better way to sleep than on their backs, if you're worried, sure her up with cushions on the side so she can't fall further forward. All 3 of mine slept on their front when they learnt to roll over- there's not much you can do once they start doing this. if you are really really worried you can buy anti rolling devices that look like those swimming float things - but i shouldn't worry too much.

If she's rolling of her own accord it's fine. It's putting them down in any position other than on their backs. If she has the strength to get herself in that position, the theory is that she can get herself out of it.

And as you're finding, once they can move it's a constant battle to convince them not to. I wouldn't pack cushions around her at this age. Not now she's moving more as they could be a hazard.
