my twins won't settle in cot

hi, my twins are 10 weeks old, and spent the first 7 weeks in scbu. now have them home, and during the day, have wrapped them up and allowed them to sleep in the living room so i can keep my eye on them. as cute as this is they are finding it hard to settle in their cot (they are sharing one cot at the moment).
they didn't settle well last night, so i brought them downstairs, put them on the changing mat, and it is one of the best nights sleep all 3 of us have had!!! any advice?thanks

mine didn't like their cots because the feeling of all that space was too much for them. I gradually weaned them into their cots by putting them to sleep in baskets and then putting the baskets inside the cots!
Do you know anyone who could lend you a couple of moses baskets?

Or, have you try swaddling them tightly in blankets? Mine adored this and I'm sure it was comforting because they had been so snug in the womb with the two of them.

Also, are they keeping each other awake? Mine didn't settle well together, they kept hitting each other with their jerky little arm movements and basically annoyed the hell out of each other!

I too would try swaddling them and placing them nice and close to each other. they like being with each other and you clearly which is natural as that is what they are used to. I was going to suggest an amby nest but you cant get two in one of those.....

Apparently Montessori babies all sleep on the floor, and it was a revelation for my cousin with her older baby. Remember, though, that waking at night is nature's way of preventing SIDS, and that the theory that one of the reasons breastfed babies have a lower incidence of cot death is that they sleep lighter and nurse more frequently than their FF counterparts.
