Is it ok to go back to using a cot if the big bed isn't working out?

Hello

DD (2.2) has been in a big girl bed for about a month, but it's not working well and I would like to know if it's a 'bad thing' to revert back to the cot?

She has gone from being a very good sleeper (7 - 7, no night wakings) to getting up at least once a night and wandering into our room.

Lunchtime naps have also gone to the wall - if I do get her down she'll sleep for 1.5hrs but I have a 3month old to deal with so the putting back to bed routine is very difficult during the day.

In the evening it usually takes about half an hour of putting back to bed (no conversation) before she eventually settles. Likewise night wakings she goes straight back to sleep with no problems, but it doesn't seem to be improving as time goes on and I'm starting to wonder if we've just done it all too early?

I don't really mind persevering but only if it's worth it!

She doesn't cry or object when we put her back to bed btw, she just gets up and stands at the door with her arms up waiting to be put back! She doesn't say a word! It's getting to be a ritual now and doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Perfectly understandable that with a 3 mth old you've got too much to do already without having to herd your 2yo but... she is more than likely tall enough to climb/fall out of her cot and now having had a taste of "freedom" I'd be worried about broken bones and bumped heads if you put her back.
