Should I leave the heating on all night?

I'm going to start putting ds in his own bedroom in the next couple of weeks after 5 months in my room, however, last night I went in to his room to change his nappy at about 4am and it was freezing in there, the growbag egg thingy was blue and it said it was 14 degrees in there. Does everyone else leave their heating on all night just low enough to keep the room at about 20 degrees or is it ok to let the temperature drop so much at night? when he does go in there he'll be in a long sleeved sleepsuit and a 2.5 tog growbag, but I'm thinking it'll still be too cold for him.

I turn off the radiator off in my DDs room but leave the heating on in the rest of the house. She wears a cotton sleep suit and a fleecy sleepsuit as well as a 2.5 tog growbag. She is then toasty but in a cool room.

My heating comes on in the middle of the night for about an hour just to take the chill off the air!
I put dd to bed last night and it was 14 degrees - it's freezing up here at the moment!
I think anywhere between 16 and 20 degrees is fine
Have a look at the grobag website www.gro-group.co.uk/grobag/sizes-togs-and-what-to-wear/ for what to dress them for different temps. I reckon if you leave your heating on all night it might get too hot - which is meant to be worse than too cold.

Our heating goes off at 10pm and not on again until 5.30am. DS sleeps in a babygro and a 2.5 tog grobag in the winter and has always been ok - although his room does get quite cold at times. I would always err on the side of caution and have it too cold than too hot.

At the moment I'm using an oil-filled radiator with thermostat to keep the temperature in our room as close to 18 degrees as possible, it's been excellent the past few nights when it's been reaaly cold outside.

We never leave our heating on at night, and the room does dip down to around 14. Toddlers in vests, sleeping bags and sleep suits and seem to be warm enough. I probably would put an extra blanket on a newborn though

thanks for the advice everyone, sorry for the delay in replying, my stoopid internet went down!! I'll make sure he's wearing enough clothes, maybe a vest as well as a sleepsuit in winter, and if he wakes up more often and I think he's cold I think Meep's idea of having the heating come on for an hour in the middle of the night is a good one.
