How do I get dd to bf more during the day than the night?

Ok so all the books say that excessive night waking can be down to hunger and to feed more in the day - but how the hell do I persuade dd?

She's more interested in looking around and is so easily distracted I'm lucky to get 2 feeds in during the day then we're every 2-3 hours all night.

I'm so tired.....

we went trhough this at various times (DS is 10 mths now)

I found it only lasted a couple of weeks or so before he forgot about the world and went back to eating when hungry. For those couple of weeks each time, i basically holed up at home and fed in his bedroom. I still have to do it now - i usually bfeed to sleep for a long nap at 11am, and i have a music box that basically acts as a trigger for him to feed / sleep.

the only other thing that works sometimes, if he won't feed in his bedroom, is to bung him in his cot for a few minutes and leave the room - he soon gets the idea that i mean business and settles down to a good feed !

oh and at night, co-sleep, it's a lifesaver

-Feed at home in a dimly lit room
-If you are managing to get a good feed in, make sure you offer the second breast
-some people swear by nursing necklaces
-distract your LO by kissing their hands/blowing raspberries/doing anything that keeps their attention in your direction whilst allowing them to keep feeding

or

you could just ride it out as this phase doesn't last forever. I remember it well. Oh, and don't even try to feed in public if your LO tries to look around whilst still feeding. DD used to do this then promptly steadied herself by biting my nipple
