DS too big for moses basket, too small for cot

My DS is only 6 weeks but already seems to be outgrowing his basket. Although he still 'fits', he can't wiggle his arms/kick his legs without bashing the sides, and this seems to frustrate him. He also seems to fall aslepp with his face pressed against the side.
He's too little to go in his own room and i doubt the cot will fit in our room. We have a travel cot that will fit in our room but I don't want to use that long-term. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a deep drawer he could sleep in? Or put a side on your bed and have him in your bed?

try and fit the cot in your room. even if its squished in, it isnt forever.

we had this priblem, we out ds down across the cot rather than the proper way, it was only a few weeks, he was in his cot, proper way, by 8 weeks. what we did was to fold a sheet to make an enveloped and slid him in so that he could not move further down, I folded it so that the part coming over was only up to his hips.

misdee, we can try, problem is we'll have to build it in our room then dismantle it if we need to move it Ah well, probably worth a try. We got a huge cotbed on offer too rather than a normal cot - didn't think that one through
tortoise, nothing springs to mind but it's a good idea, I'll have a think.

SpacePuppy, the problem is more that he'd have to be in his own room. It's right next to ours... is that def a no no at 6 weeks?

we put ds in his own room, with a monitor next to my head, its nerve recking the first few nights, but it gets easier, if you are unsure, spend a few nights in his room on the floor. we put the monitor right in the cot by his head, could even hear him breathe.

You LO must have been about the same age as well? That's reassuring. TBH I think we'd hear him breathe from our room without a monitor Wish someone would buy our house!!
