at what age did you put your DC into their own bed? - we're hoping that we could wait till we move again (prob end of the year) but J keeps banging about and waking up. he's just over 15 months. was thinking maybe just taking one side off which is by the wall?

any thoughts?

My DS is just about to be 2, and still in cotbed with bars - we keep planning to take them off but he rolls around so much we know he'll fall out all the time. He hasn't worked out how to climb out, so we keep putting it off.

my ds was 3.5. Had tried to remove them earlier at his request but he soon changed his mind after a week of no sleep, put them back on and sleep was not a problem once again. depends on child.

We took ours off at 2.11 and only then because we knew that on holiday (at 3yrs) she would have to go in a bed.

took ds's off about 3 weeks ago - a week or so before his 2nd bday

hadn't planned on doing it so soon but he was in danger of tipping himself over the bars to get out

it's been remarkably plain sailing

same as tutter - first night last night with ds2 - much better than ds1 who spent the night wandering on his first night. Had a conversation yesterday with a german mum who said they remove one slat from the bars so toddler can wriggle out rather than over which I thought was clever.

dt's had theirs turned into beds at about 15 months, BUT we kept them in Grobags to stop too much trouble!

Best thing we did- often still find them curled up in one bed together at the age of 3!

Just before 2 and put gate in hall to avoid night time wanderings.

thanks guys, I did want to wait as I say cos of his age - (will be 22 months by the end of the year) he's a wriggler he just seems to be waking up after banging about - might try the wall side off and the other side on still for a mintue to see how it goes?

(even with a gro bag he's a wriggler! lol)
