What do you use after travel cot?

My ds is only 12 months but tall for his age and is nearly too long for his travel cot. he certainly has no room for shuffling about as he does in his cot bed at home. What else could he safely sleep in when we are away?

What about those little sleep over beds. I can't find an eg of what I mean but they roll up but have a sleeping bag attached - hope someone knows what I'm talking about

What kind of travel cot do you have, my tall charge at 2yo was still sleeping in a travel cot on occasion!

The bed Mistymoo mentioned can be purchased from The Great Little Trading Company, it's just like a sleeping bag.

DS (19m) has a small inflatable thomas the tank engine 'ready bed' I think it's called. a small air bed with a with built in sleeping bag.
think Argos etc have them, but this was only about £10 from tescos.

It's low down so obviously not far to fall out! But also means we have to take the travel gate everywhere with us to put on the door of the bedroom because obviously if he wakes up he can easily escape!

we went straight from the travel cot to a bed with a bed rail - this one is excellent as it folds up baby dan bed rail

or you can get bigger travel cots - this one is 1.2m long (most are about 1m i think)

Thanks for suggestions everyone. Kittypants, I personally don't want to encourage sleeping in with us - and besides DH and I are rather large and tend to fill most beds. I don't want him to get a taste for it IYSWIM!

I did wonder about the ready bed thing. I do find air beds a bit squeaky, but could give it a go. I just wasn't sure if they weren't recommended for tinies. Do they have a built in pillow?

Mine were both in travel cots until they were 2 and then straight into a bed with safety rail. Although we do have ready beds as well now.
