Possible help for parents of non-sleeping babies

We bought this Sounds For Silence CD from ebay.com.au and it has helped us with DS, who is almost 1 year and has never slept well.

Certainly not a miracle cure (although I think it is designed for younger babies really), but he is much more able to re-settle himself at night since we have been using it - we have one track on repeat all night.

Just wanted to post and let other tired Mums know of another option - Hey, even if it doesn't work it wont be the worst money you've spent eh?

bumping as this really has helped us a lot - hes gone from 2-5 wake ups per night to 1, sometimes none!

link is interesting.only thing i thought was odd was most of the clips of babies settling didnt really settle and you could see all they needed was swaddling!,waving arms and legs no wonder they were screaming.my ds is 14 months so dont know if hes too old.

I think the sounds are supposed to settle younger babies more quickly as they are familiar womb like sounds - obv not the case with your 14 month ds though as he hasn't been in the womb for some time! With my 12 month DS I think its taken longer (it took about a week to make a real difference) - so I think he is now familiar with the sounds as he hears them every night, and he finds that soothing. They are quite weird (sound like washing machines, vacuum cleaners etc), but also quite mezmorising, even for me!

Thanks Astrophe, this looks interesting and I will definitely think about buying it for my 3-week-old dd.

Think its aimed at tiny babies really, so I hope you have success - let me know how you get on with it, I'd love to know if it works for others
