How do they just KNOW when you've gone to bed early??!

DD, just shy of 20 months, after months of exhaustion and frustration FINALLY started properly sleeping through the night consistently 1.5 months ago, which was AMAZING. For ages I have been meaning to go to bed early to try to chip away at some of the mountain of sleep dept built up. Finally managed it tonight. Went to bed early, settled in for a good night's sleep ready to wake up refreshed. She woke at 2am. HOW? HOW does she know???!!!! Aaaaaaargh!

(obviously I rationally know that she isn't doing it on purpose Hmm and it's just coincidence Grin)

Does anyone else whose DC took ages to recognise that night is for sleeping suddenly feel like they are on the precipice of it all going to shit after just one night wake??!

Mine are in cahoots - on the very rare occasions DC3 sleeps through, DC1 without fail wakes up. Every Single Time.

Ha Long I am sure I have this to look forward to! Part of the reason I had an early night was because I am 7 weeks pregnant with number 2. Eek! Wonders, not for the first time, if she is crazy to be voluntarily disrupting her previous, hard-earned sleepPerhaps you need to record DC3 and play the sounds to DC1 to trick them Grin

This made me laugh as, although not the same situation, my 10 month old has a without-fail 2 hr afternoon nap every day APART from when I am monumentally shattered (from two very little ones who are hit and miss at sleeping through) and am trying to have 40 winks at the same time. Honestly, EVERY fucking time I get in bed, a good 20 mins after he's passed out, he will wake screaming without fail. In the 3-4months he's been in this routine I've tried to nap myself around 8-10 times and those are the only bloody times he hasn't had his two hours!

I know I probably sound a bit loony but I swear he knows, it's just uncanny that every single time it happens.
