I'm not really after advice as such, I just want to know if anyone else has had a baby like this?
Ds2 is 11.5 months. He's was never a naturally good sleeper, he'd never just passively fall asleep, he'd get overtired and stay awake for hours.
He is MUCH better now and I think, I hope we are through the worst. I mean he's got a bedtime routine, he has a long nap in the day when in his cot, and he sleeps through 50% of the time, the other nights he cosleeps half the night and sometimes we do get kept up. No night feeds now or anything so we are lucky compared to some.
But my gosh that boy can stay awake when he wants to. If we go out anywhere for the day he will not sleep in the pram, I can walk him round for miles and he will be tired but wide awake. He has to have a blanket draped over the pram for any hope of going to sleep and he might nod off briefly but it would take an hour of walking him in the pram.
He's such a light sleeper too, the slightest noise and he wakes up. We totally carry on as normal and don't tiptoe around but he never gets used to it. He wakes up every night when we go to bed.
Regarding the cosleeping people just say oh do cc or don't give in. Not ds, if he does wake up in the night he won't go back to sleep, he gets himself into too much of a state.
I miss the days with my ds1, I could just sit him in his bouncer and he'd nod off, he'd sleep anywhere, he'd sleep in in the mornings. He slept through the night and even if he did get up a quick cuddle and he'd go back to bed.
I'm used to ds2 now but I se all these babies sleeping in their buggies bad I feel a bit jealous.
