Sleep

6 weeks into 4 month sleep regression...

So DS started sleeping through - 6.30-6 - from a very early age and I thought I'd hit the jackpot... Until we hit the '4 month sleep regression'. Now nights are constantly disrupted and he can only be sated with a feed it would seem. (He's exclusively Bfed). He's now nearly 6 months old and I can't see any light at the end of the tunnel. DS1 was never a good sleeper as a baby but I feel that with DS2, because he's done it before, he should be able to sleep better than this. He's been teething for what feels like forever but there are no teeth through yet. I'm just sick of being a cow to DH and snapping at DS1 because I'm so tired. DS2 will nap in the day but not for long periods of time so it's not like I can catch up on sleep then. I'm hoping that maybe when I wean him he'll feel fuller and sleep for longer?! Is this just wishful thinking?!

Hi Roz, just wanted to say hello... I could have almost written your post myself (apart from the bit about previously sleeping through).

My DS is 24 weeks and stopped sleeping about 5 or 6 weeks ago. DS1 did the 4 month sleep regression hourly waking thing but it only lasted about two weeks. This little terror won't sleep longer than 2h maximum. It grinds you down doesn't it.

I can't remember what it feels like to not be tired Sad

I don't think there's any evidence that weaning will improve sleep. They eat so little to start with that I don't think it will full them up. But actually I'm thinking if just trying solids simply because something has to change.

How old is your older one? Mine has just turned 3.
