Daft things you've done to get DC to sleep.

So this morning I really needed a nap when 13 month old DC was having one.
I normally work it so I'm driving or walking to the shops at nap time as DC wont sleep in the cot at nap time.

I fought for over an hour to get her to sleep in the cot but eventually i was on my knees with tiredness I brought the pram upstairs and pushed her on the landing and she fell asleep!
I finally got a much needed hour nap.

Hurrah.

A few weeks ago I walked 3 miles in the rain to make sure a nap happened.

Anyone else done insane things for sleep???

Just posted this on another thread, but I have climbed into a cot and slept with my daughter for an hour or so. I was so stiff when I snuck back out!

My DD has always napped ok in her cot (touch wood) but her afternoon/evening nap used to be so tricky when she was about 3 or 4 months old. She fought sleep but if she didn't go off she'd be like an absolute demon come 6pm.
So I always did that nap in the pram, walking around the common. Thing is she was 3 months old in Dec and 4 months in Jan.
I have v clear memories of trudging out the door in the pitch dark and walking round and round the common on my own with the pram in the wind, rain, sleet and once heavy snow. Not another soul to be seen.

Sellmysoul - my DD started to take her naps in her pushchair at 11 months when she started with her child minder. Even now at 2.5, I just pop her in the pushchair, park her in a darkened room and she'll nap for a couple of hours.

My ds naps on his buggy on the landing most days! We bought a second lightweight buggy for this very purpose. He's 12 months old too!
