Sleep

If you have a 9/10 month old, do they sleep on tummy or back?

Just wondering ... my 9.5 month old is now much happier sleeping on her tummy at night and turns over of her own accord, but I still feel twitchy about it and find myself turning her back over on to her back. Am I being overanxious? She seems to sleep so much better on her tummy ...

I think DD slept on her front as soon as she could roll, I kept turning her over but have up when it was multiple times a night! I'm pretty certain that of they put themselves in that position then it's ok but I'm happy to be corrected? Also think the risk of anything is significantly lower from 6 months

My son has slept on his tummy since about 8 months - as long as they are able to turn themselves back over and not get stuck then there shouldn't be any reason to worry.

Tummy, I think all babies do don't they?

gretagrape my DD can't turn herself back over though - she flips on to her tummy very easily but then wouldn't be able to get herself back over if she wanted to. But of course she's strong enough to push herself right up on her arms. I'm sure it's OK at this sort of age, but just feel a bit nervous after all the SIDs stuff that's drummed into you.

My DS has slept on his stomach since he was about 5 months old. He is almost 9 months old now and he never sleeps on his back.

My dd has slept on her front since 8 weeks old due to multiple allergies and severe reflux was the only way of getting a couple hours sleep. I worried when she was immobile but had a breathing monitor. Now she will wake if she's not on her tummy. I think at this age they move so much they can find what's comfortable for them

My daughter preferred sleeping on her front from that age. She could roll so I just left her too it and she has been fine
