Dd is 2.4 and I am 41 weeks pregnant.
She naps for about 1.5/2 hours a day at roughly 11.30/12. Goes to bed at 7/7.30.

The problem is her waking time. She's getting me up at 4.50 every morning and often had what I can only assume are bad dreams so I have to settle her during the night too.
She often cries during the night (2.30/3 ish) so I go in and 'shh' her but this combined with toilet breaks is killing me. I'm struggling to get back to sleep after and am often awake for the day from 2.30am Sad.
It's killing me and I'm so worried about if when the new baby arrives.
Do I try and drop the nap? She really seems to need it still and not sure we'd get through the day without.
Shorten it?
Try and wake her at 4 to set a new sleep pattern?
ANY advice welcome.
Thank you.

I'm afraid I don't have much useful to say but wanted to offer my sympathy. That must be really hard going at 41 weeks pregnant!!

I remember reading a thread on here where some people had success in a similar early waking situation by rousing the baby slightly an hour before their normal wake time to reset their sleep cycles.
If you put 'early waking' in the search function you might be able to find the thread.

Thank you Ellie. I'll have a look at that.
Yes it's torture. I'm a complete zombie and so worried about being too tired for labour.
The thing is, dd is obviously still tired as I'll take her into the spare bed and she will go back to sleep until 6.30/7 so she needs it! Just driving me mad.

I know a sleep consultant that talks about early waking on her site - here's the link if you're interested - sleepfairyparentrescue.co.uk/blog/2014/02/23/fixing-early-rising-in-1-3-year-olds/

Also my DD had really bad nightmares (infact she was a terrible sleeper full stop) - I did various things to help her including, certain foods to make her sleepy, herbal teas, flower remedies for bad dreams etc. Here's the info about nightmares on my blog I hope it helps. - mydaughterwontsleep.com/2014/03/13/does-your-child-have-nightmares/

When my DD used to wake me in the night and I couldn't get back to sleep I used to take Bach flower rescue night and do acupressure on myself which would calm me enough to nod off. I still do it now if I'm worrying about something - again here's the info mydaughterwontsleep.com/2013/12/27/the-sleep-inducing-power-of-acupressure/

Good luck!! It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. x
