Sleep

I really don't know what to do anymore!

My 9mo has never been an easy sleeper. Daytime naps have never been easy either, but she did start being easier at night but recently she's been terrible to get down and has started waking twice in the night thinking it's time to get up. I'm afraid to say we rock her to sleep as self settling has never worked, she just rolls about and sits up. She also has a bottle before bed and will only settle in the night if she has one too. She's always been an active, busy baby but she seems to have gotten worse now she's started crawling and pulling herself up to stand. Sorry I know it's alot but any help will be REALLY appreciated

Everything you have just mentioned is pretty much the exact same situation we have with our 9 month old. Over the last 2 days I have stopped rocking her to sleep and have started my own very gentle version of controlled crying and have seen a definite improvement already. I put her down on her back in her cot say sleepy time and leave the room. if she cries I wait 3 minutes and go back in. if she's standing/sitting I lie her back down and shush her and put my hand on her chest and once she's calm leave the room again and if she cries wait 3 minutes and keep repeating this until she's asleep.
It took about 45 minutes the first time and last night she was asleep within 5 so it's definitely working and I didn't want to leave her to cry on her own for long periods so this is an approach I'm more comfortable with.

We did controlled crying and expected it to be a disaster but within 3 days it has worked and she will go down with a few minutes of moaning or just straight to sleep. Naps are another story....
