Not sure where to post.Just stopped bf DC3,now 7.5 months, big boy, eats a lot and happily switched from breast to bottle with no problem at all.He is now waking every morning at 4am,downing 7oz of formula and going back to sleep but I am finding this tiring and want him to sleep through as going back to work soon.
He's still in my room.
My middle one was sleeping all night by now.

Any advice?

Sorry no advice but just wanted to say I feel your pain. My eldest was usually sleeping through by about 7 months even after I stopped the dreamfeed around then.

dS2 however is now 9 months and still waking between 1 to 3 times (i don't do a dreamfeed, sometimes he wakes when I go to bed, sometimes he sleeps on til later). Some days I am just so shattered I could cry - and dealing with the eldest by mid afternoon, now that he rarely naps, can be draining.

But - I/DH have tried occasionally to settle the baby in the middle of the night instead of me feed him. Sometimes he will settle - but often just to wake 30 mins/an hour later. So I guess he may be hungry. Regardless, I find it less tiring just to get up and feed him, than to try settling. I cannot shhh/pat endlessly at 230am.

So no advice - just maybe each baby is so different,
maybe this one just needs it whereas the others didn't.

Any reason this one is still in your room? My youngest was in ours til he was almost 8 months as we didn't have a room for him and I didn't want him in with his brother. We moved though and now he's in his own room it is definitely easier as we don't wake him when we go to bed, nor if one of us pops to the loo etc, and he sometimes sleeps later now that DH doesn't wake him when he gets up for work, nor does his brother if he's up at stupid o clock bouncing around.

Good luck, lack of sleep is awful.

Thanks roadtotuapeka ,baby still in my room as not really decided where to put him next! His 2 brothers share and the easiest thing would be to put them all in together, but want to wait until middle brother ready for a bed.And DH is mainly in spare room due to baby disturbing his sleep. If I put the baby in the spare room & he still wakes up it is further for me to go at 4am,whereas next to my bed I can just reach over.
I think you are right,he must be hungry. And like you,the easiest thing is just to feed him so we can all sleep!

Hi my 11 month old still wakes for a feed. If he has a full feed at bedtime he normally wakes once still. If he's to tired to have his bed bottle he will wake twice. It's something you just have to put up with it till they are ready to stop.

My DS did this twice during growth spurts between 7-10 months having been bf until around 7 month mark- woke for around 2 weeks each time for milk and then stopped all by himself - I didn't fight it and it was fine. He obviously needed/wanted the milk and it took 5minutes before I was back in bed rather than an hour of trying to settle him without it as I tried the first couple of nights!

I would try giving some toast or something light with the last bottle of the day to see if that helps.
