Sleep

I need to learn!

I have an 8 week old dd2. My first dd was an awful sleeper & never had a daytime nap without being taken out in the car, I CANNOT cope with this happening again &I need to learn how to foster good sleeping habits!

So: how do I get her to sleep without being in a sling/arms/the car?!

I'm under no illusions that an 8 week old will be a good sleeper, I just need to know how I help her get into the swing of it.

All pearls of wisdom greatly appreciated...

It might sort itself out - DS1 was a horrible sleeper, his brother, by comparison was a dream - as in DH looking after 2 yr old DS1 got less sleep than me BF newborn DS2.

Any signs DD2 is more chilled than DD1? Generally we just had to carry on as normal, and sleeps had to happen pram / car / cot wherever we were.

The only think I changed was to put him down earlier - like after an hour awake in the really early days.

Congrats on your new Baby

We made sure that when we were settling them for nap/bedtime. It was dark, quiet and calm. Not speaking just comforting. When they quietened we put them in bouncer/crib. If they cried we repeated the routine.
