Does anyone have experience please. I have looked at single parent holidays but they are mainly fully booked and also pretty pricey. I have considered chalet but am worried I will be the only single parent and will feel out of the loop. We could hire an apartment but I will have no-one to ski with whilst dd in ski school. Just wondering if anyone has experience of any option, good or bad, and can impart wisdom or tips! We normally go with friends but cannot do that this year.

Look at Esprit, they quite often do "deals" during school holidays for 1 parent and 1 child.

Also, look for companies that do ski guiding: this will give you people to ski with whilst DD is at ski school (but this would need to resorts not in France). Have heard about this place on Snowheads Brenta Dolomite as I noticed they still had half term availability.

Also have a look on the Ski Club of Great Britain site as they have guides outside of France.

I run a Meet Up group for single parents and we have a couple of ski trips one at NY and one in Feb - the one in Feb is fully booked but we have had someone just drop out of our trip to Bulgaria over NY - Its 28/12 until 3/1...flights with BA to Bansko - There are 30 of us in total - 11 single parent families who have sole use of a small hotel ...basic but with 5* rating for service ....Its costing just over £400 - flights and accommodation ....we intend to take most meals in hotel (these are extra but NOT pricey) and we will have a big NYE celebration ... Not sure whether this helps !

Look at PGL who do family activity holidays. I am pretty sure they do skiing.

We went on one in the summer - PGL not skiing! obv. It was good value for money and a great mix of couples and single parents.
