The Galtenberg is a Kinderhotel. We'll be travelling with a 2 and 3 year old. The idea is that we use their childcare for half the day and then take them out on the slopes (weather permitting) for the afternoon/ morning.

Its a Kinderhotel, so looks great for small children. They currently have a 3-night all-inclusive break offer for around 780 euro including childcare and transfer from Innsbruck. Flights are currently around £220 for the four of us.

Its all looking so good, that I'm thinking there must be a catch somewhere.

Has anyone ever been there? Would you recommend it?

i haven't been, but if you can afford it, i say go for it.

i think you will also have to factor in ski hire, lessons etc, but enjoy it.

lucky thing

We went in Feb 07 when DS was 4.5, it was his first proper skiing trip so we didn't really use the childcare as such as he was in ski school.
In a nutshell we had a great week, liked the hotel and would go back. Their free transfer offer is great as well (we got collected from nearest station).
Points to note:
The hotel is in Inneralpbach and not in the village of Alpbach itself, great for skiing as it's right by the gondola. There were no shops in Inneralpbach so if you need snacks etc you need to take the regular ski bus into Alpbach or a very pretty 40 mins (adult) walk (not via the road).
The resort is not high so snow could be a problem, we were there in a very mild Feb, no snow in valley but plenty up top and it was possible to ski down (snow cannons).

I put a review on Trip Advisor, it's dated 7 Mar 07
